The move of Powys Care and Repair’s headquarters to Newtown has helped the organisation develop and improve its services, its Annual General Meeting has been told.
The organisation, which helps homeowners and private sector tenants over the age of 60, with adaptations, renovations and repairs to their home to hep them lead independent lives, moved from Llandrindod Wells to Newtown during the past year.
Its service covers the whole of Powys, including Newtown.
Ms. Julie Metcalf, Chair of Care and Repair in Powys said: “The past year has been one of significant change for the Agency, in which its staff and services relocated from Llandrindod Wells to Newtown.
“Despite the upheaval it was a testament to the quality and dedication of the staff that the services provided to the residents of Powys continued to develop and improve. I would like to thank Linda from The Silver Line for her touching and enlightening presentation”.
During the meeting two new members were appointed to the Board of Management of Care and Repair in Powys: Stewart Davison, who is Head of Business Development with Capita Systems and a Board Member with Shelter Cymru and Gofal and Rhydian Davies, a Welsh speaker who is a Strategic Projects Officer from the Welsh Government.
