Family and friends of missing James Corfield, 19, from Montgomery were this morning heading to Llanelwedd to begin a search for the missing young farmer.

James was last seen at the Royal Welsh Show on Monday night, but was reported missing yesterday after he failed to meet up with friends at the show.

Police initially said they were aware of a missing person but then became increasingly concerned as the day went on.

Facebook has been full of post shares urging people to look out for James.

Family and friends have today travelled to Llanelwedd to help search for James, although Dyfed Powys Police said they were not co-ordinating any official searches at this time.

One of James' friend's told MyNewtown: "It was quite emotional last night at the show ground. We're all worried about James and we're heading to the police station in Builth to help join the search."

James is a well liked cricketer and young farmer from Montgomery, playing for the town's cricket club.

Friends said it was out of character for him to not contact anyone.

It is understood police carried out a search of the River Wye which runs alongside the Young Persons Village at the showground where entertainment, including Radio 1's Greg James entertain the crowds.

Visitors to the show are also being urged to look out for him, including traders and exhibitors.

Anyone with information should contact Dyfed Powys Police by telephoning 101.
