Did you work at Dowty Seals/Trelleborg?

In its hey-day, Dowty Seals/Trelleborg employed more than 200 local residents and was one of the biggest employers in Newtown.

 

Thousands have worked there over the years and some former employees are looking to organise a reunion for anyone that worked there – whether it was 30 years or 30 days!

“I worked there for 13 years and my brother for 14 years. My father was there for more than 25 years,” said Steve Tanner, one of the organisers.

 

“Dowty/Trelleborg was a major employer for many years in Newtown and over the years has welcomed many local and not so local people through its doors. A few former employees have got together to arrange a reunion for anyone who worked there. It doesn't matter whether you worked there for 30 years or just 30 days, you'll be made welcome.

“Over the years there have been many friendships made, so why not take this opportunity to catch up with a few old friends and workmates?”

The reunion will take place on July 23 at Newtown Football Club from 7.30pm with tickets priced at £10 to cover the hire of the function room, a karaoke/disco and a Hog Roast. Any monies left over will be donated to a local charity.
