Four Newtown students are heading off to France to celebrate the twinning links between Newtown and Les Herbiers.

The students from NPTC Group’s Newtown college campus went through a selection process and will join other members of the community on a visit to the community.

Students Kimberley Riley, Abi Thorn, Georgina Webster and Alaskia Rogers secured their place on the trip through the college’s Enterprise initiative and have worked hard to co-ordinate the production of a range of artisan crafts to sell at an international market in Les Herbier’s on Saturday.

“The twinning project routinely organises exchange visits to the French town and hope the craft market will be as vibrant and engaging as their last trip which was centred around a food and drink market,” said Sara Welch Newtown College Enterprise Champion.

“This opportunity is a fabulous chance for students to develop not only business and marketing skills but also to immerse in the cultural exchange and network with a wide range of other business and craft specialists.”
