Police in Newtown are now using body cameras while undertaking daily duties and investigations.
It is understood most officers on duty in the town are using the cameras which record video and sound and can be used in evidence when undertaking investigations or attending incidents.
The cameras have also been introduced to officers in Welshpool who cover neighbouring areas.
In addition to helping record evidence, the cameras also act as an "independent witness" ensuring recordings of all police are activity are made.
