Householders in Newtown might not have their waste and recycling picked up on Monday.

Powys County Council has asked residents who receive collection services on a Monday to still put their bins and recycling boxes out, but if they are not picked up on the day to put them back out on Tuesday.

A spokesperson said: “There will be disruptions to household recycling and food waste collections in Newtown and Welshpool this Bank Holiday Monday.

“We will try and collect on the day but if your recycling and food waste has not been collected by 5pm, please take your containers back in and put them out by 7.30am on Tuesday (May 30) and they will be collected. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.”
