Newtown to stage massive laser show

Newtown is set to stage a spectacular laser show which will be seen from as far afield as Welshpool and Caersws!

 

The news was confirmed this morning that an internationally renowned performance will headline the ‘Party in the Park’ on April 29 to celebrate the Royal Wedding of Prince Williams to Kate Middleton.

 

“We are awaiting the confirmation of more details but we can promise that it will be something special that we have not seen before in Newtown,” said Town Mayor, Cllr Joy Jones. “It will be very, very impressive and a fitting finale to what promises to be a spectacular and fun filled family day.”

 

Mynewtown has been told that the show can be seen from as far away as 15 miles on a clear night which, as the crow flies, means Welshpool residents attending their Party in the Park at Powis Castle will spot the show in the distance.

 

Newtown is planning a weekend long programme of entertainment to celebrate the wedding. The Friday fun day will also include stalls, street entertainers, bands and a disco and will be followed on the Sunday by an historic day with a whole host of different entertainment on offer.
