A local drama group is preparing for a concert celebrating the life of writer Jane Austen and to raise funds for the Wales Air Ambulance.

Llandinam Drama Group will perform the Edinburgh Fringe award winning play Austensibility by Alan Richardson on Friday, 19 and Saturday, 20 May at Llandinam Village Hall.

Director, Judith Marvin, has brought together a cast of local adults and children to portray the life of one of Britain’s greatest writers.

“The play was especially written to commemorate the 200th anniversary of Jane Austen’s death in July 2017. This cleverly written, witty and lively biography of Austen’s life uses extracts from her ever popular novels,” said Judith.

Money raised from the performances will go to Wales Air Ambulance. A raffle will also be held. Each performance starts at 7.30pm.
