Jane Dodds has today confirmed she will be standing as the Liberal Democrat candidate for Montgomeryshire at the General Election on 8 June.
She lost to sitting MP, Glyn Davies, by 5,325 votes at the 2015 election with 9,879 votes compared to Mrs Davies' 15,204.
Mr Davies declared he would be contesting the seat yesterday.
"We need an MP in Montgomeryshire standing up for our communities, as I have done campaigning to stop cuts to our recycling centres and to improve local health services," she said in a communication to party supporters.
The General Election was called by Prime Minister Theresa May on Tuesday. It was ratified by MPs in the House of Commons yesterday.
