A Newtown-based company that pioneered online holiday bookings almost 20 years ago, is celebrating 35 years of providing cottages and luxury estates all over Wales.
Family business, Wales Cottage Holidays, based in Newtown, began life as Mid Wales Holidays in 1978, serving the local region's holiday needs.
But it soon became a national cottage agency with a collection of rural and coastal self-catering cottage holidays in North Wales and Snowdonia, West Wales and Pembrokeshire, plus the Brecon Beacons too.
Ginnie James, who deals with the firm's marketing and administration, said: "We are proud to have been at the helm of online bookings in 1999, which has since become massive across the UK and is still a major part of our business.
"Most of our staff have been here for several years and this is my 17th year with the firm.
"Over half our properties are pet friendly too, which is generating a lot of interest online."
