A Newtown High School student has secured a place at Atlantic College in Germany.

Tazmin Samuels is the only UK student to be paced at the college in Freilburg, Baden-Wurttemberg.

The college is one of 16 United World Colleges which have around 200 students at any one time for sixth form age.

Wales is host to the UK equivalent college in South Wales

The movement is represented in 150 countries and more than 50,000 students from more than 180 different countries have studied at UWC schools, colleges and programs.
Tazmin’s offer of a place comes with a scholarship to cover all costs.
Mr Harkness, headteacher at Newtown High School, said: "This is an fantastic opportunity for Tazmin, especially when you consider she was the only one accepted from the UK to study in Germany and we wish her all the best in her future as she embarks on this exciting journey."
