There was plenty of late drama as Newtown snatched a point at home to Llandudno to remain top of the bottom six in the Dafabet Welsh Premier.

Jason Oswell scored the all-important equaliser in the 2-2 draw with virtually the last kick of the game to continue the Robins unbeaten run in 2017.

Newtown had to come from behind twice during an entertaining contest in front of the TV cameras at Latham Park.

Danny Hughes fired the Seasiders in front, before Luke Boundford levelled with a header before the break.

Danny Shaw volleyed the visitors in front midway through the second half, however the in-form Oswell bagged his 17th goal of the season to rescue a point.

Manager Chris Hughes said the comeback shows the team’s character and strength.

“It is where we are at, at the moment,” he said.

“We are in a good moment, confidence is high, and the endeavour we showed speaks a lot for what we have.

“When you’re on a good run this happens to you.

“Last season it wasn’t, so we’ll take it.”
