Only five people have so far responded to a Powys County Council consultation on active travel routes in Newtown which closes on Sunday.

The consultation could feed into future spending on cycle routes and pathways.

According to resident and businessman, Stuart Owen, the consultation is little known by people and the method for responding is "difficult."

The county council has been holding the consultation throughout the county. It focuses on each of he main towns, including Newtown.Mr Owen said: “As of last night there had only been five replies from residents of Newtown.

“No surprise, considering how woefully shared and advertised this has been, plus how difficult it is to complete the survey, in that you must print, mark up, scan and email back the document.

“I understand the results of this survey may determine PCC spend on cycle routes and pathways in the area.”

The consultation can be found here.
