Honorary Freeman Award confirmed

10/03/2017 @ 02:50

An Honorary Freeman Award has been launched by Newtown Town Council to recognise those who have made a notable positive impact on the town and community.

MyNewtown reported last month about the proposal which has now been ratified as a formal policy.
It had been suggested that the late David Pugh, a former town mayor and town historian, who passed away, should be posthumously given the award for his work in the town.

It is understood that is still being considered.

The town council is expected to confirm details of the award and how people will be nominated.
