A Newtown man has denied a charge of wounding with intent.
Defendant William Hemingsley, 49, of Welsey Street, Newtown, appeared at Mold Crown Court via a live television link from prison.

He admitted wounding on January 27 but denied a more serious alternative charge of wounding the complainant with intent to cause him GBH.

The prosecution did not accept his pleas and the case was adjourned for trial in July.
Judge Rhys Rowlands remanded him in custody in the meantime.

The court was told that the prosecution and the defence would be commissioning medical reports on the defendant before the trial.
