Mid Wales interest in the Welsh Cup came to an end today with both Llanfair and Guilsfield failing to reach the semi-finals.
Both clubs were looking to create history by getting to the last four but it wasn't to be with Llanfair suffering a 7-0 thrashing at home to fellow Huws Gray Alliance side Caernarfon.
Goal scorers for Caernarfon were Gareth Edwards (2), Jamie Breese (2), Kevin Lloyd, Darren Thomas and Clive Williams.
A first half goal from Ryan Wade and second half strikes from Chris Venables and a last minute John Irving effort were enough to give Bala Town victory at Guilsfield, though the villagers put up a great fight against their Welsh Premier League opponents.
The Caersws game against Holyhead in the Huws Gray Alliance was off due to a waterlogged Recreation Ground .
Carno were left disappointing after finishing the game 2-2 at Llanidloes in the Spar Mid Wales Legaue. The villagers were down to nine men and conceded a last minute goal. But it was worse for Berriew, who lost 3-1 at Llanrhaeadr.
