Plans for a housing development of 25 properties on land near Garthowen are to be determined a Powys County Council committee next week.

The outline plans for the development on land adjacent to Glyndwr will be considered by the council’s planning committee next Thursday after being called in by local county councillor Bob Mills.

The application has been made by D&G Projects (Mid Wales) Ltd.

Council officers have recommended approval of the application, which includes four one bedroom flats, three self-build plots and 18 semi-detached three and four bedroomed houses.

But this is set against concerns from the town council and local council member over access and traffic in the area.

The council reports states there have been 29 individual letters of objection and 35 pre-printed letters by individuals and a petition with 116 names on it.

Council officers have said it should be approved subject to a number of conditions.

The council’s planning committee will consider the application next Thursday.
