Caersws edged out

Guilsfield survived a late rally from Caersws to maintain their top three push in the Huws Gray Cymru Alliance.

A decent crowd turned up to see Guilsfield open up a two-goal league with strikes either side of half time from Andy Ford and Louis Irvine (penalty). But a second penalty missed by Irvine gave Caersws the push they needed with former Guilsfield hitman Will Thomas heading one back with 19 minutes to go.

But the Bluebirds were reduced to 10-men soon after when Jolyon Harries suffered a rush of blood and chopped down Adam Jenkins with an awful tackle, receiving his second yellow.

It made life easier for Guilsfield who saw the game out to prepare well for the tough challenge this weekend at leaders Prestatyn.

Meanwhile, Llanfair United suffered a blow by going down 2-0 at home to fellow strugglers Penrhynoch.
