Gavin Cadwallader is back in the Newtown squad for the Welsh Premier League visit of Cardiff Met – 10 months after suffering a knee injury.

The defender, in his second spell at Latham Park, suffered the injury in March and is delighted to have finally recovered from the nasty injury.

He said: "I'm really looking forward to it, it has been a long time to be injured. I waited a long time for an operation, but now I am back fit and raring to go again.”

His return is a major boost for manager Chris Hughes on the back of last Saturday’s win at Rhyl, which lifted the Robins clear of the relegation door.

Tonight (Friday) improving Carno go to Rhayader, looking to pick up points in their bid for the top of the Spar Mid Wales League.

On Saturday Caersws are at home to Mold in the Huws Gray Alliance after winning the local derby at Llanfair last week. Llanfair look to bounce straight back with a win at Gresford.
