Hooded man attempts to jump into occupied car

A worrying incident of a man attempting to gain entry to a car while it’s occupant was in it in Newtown is being investigated by police.

Police said a man attempted to get into the passenger door of the car before the driver drove off.

The incident happened in the Gravel car park in Shortbridge Street on Sunday at approximately 9.35pm.

“A male wearing a hoodie has tried to gain access to an occupied car through the passenger door, the doors have been locked and the driver has then driven off,” said PC Andrew Taylor of Newtown Police.
