Praise for town’s young

18/02/2011 @ 04:28

It is not often that youngsters are praised but that is exactly what has happened this week after a group of Llanfair youngsters showed their community spirit.

The group from Llanfair High School has been carrying out voluntary work as part of the Duke of Edinburgh Award by helping to complete work on the Llanfair Institute.

The youngsters have been pitching in to work in the garden and also redecorate the dressing room and stairwell which should all be completed in time for a pantomime on February 25 and 26.

“Llanfair Players will be delighted to have a really smart dressing room to change in,” said Clive Hopwood, the Centenary Project Leader. “The Institute is very grateful to these young people who have shown that young people must be praised and are eager to play their part in the local community.”

It’s better news for a community rocked by news yesterday that its public toilets were vandalised by youths this week.
