Newtown is an anti social behaviour hotspot

Newtown has anti social behaviour and violent crime problems it has been revealed.
 
The most crime-ridden streets in Britain have been revealed by a new police map that allows residents to view offences committed in their area and Newtown’s problems are regarded as ‘above average.’
 
The crime rate was revealed in street by street crime maps designed to give people the information they need to hold their local police to account.
 
Home Secretary Theresa May said the maps, accessible online at www.police.uk, would help people find out what was really going on in their area.
 
December figures for Newtown reveal a total of 147 street level or anti social behaviour crimes. Of these 76 were anti social behavior, 25 were violent crime, 3 vehicle crime, 3 burglary, 1 robbery and 39 other offences which includes criminal damage, shoplifting and drug offences.
 
The crime hot spot was in Broad Street where 19 offences took place while there were a further 13 on High Street.
 
There were 17 offences recorded in Llanidloes, 10 for anti social behaviour, 2 for burglary, 2 for violent crime and three other offences.
 
There were 6 offences in Caersws, 4 for anti social behaviour.
