A new project aims to bring play to Newtown Market Hall.
Play Montgomeryshire is currently in the process of setting up a scheme that would allow children to play in an area of the market hall while their parents shopped or used the cafe in the hall.
It is understood the project would allow children to learn through play and act as an outreach to the charity’s existing play schemes.
“The aim is to explore new ways to encourage children’s imagination and sense of play while their parents relax in the cafe or shop at the stalls nearby,” the charity said.
It is understood the scheme will be run in conjunction with the Food and Land Trust, which operates the market hall, in order to establish regular play sessions there each week and also at some other venues.
The charity will be recruiting for staff to man the project.
