Powys County Council’s website has been cited for good practice in the national Better Connected annual report by SOCITM which evaluates all council websites across the UK.
Reviews are based a website’s performance across a number of devices, including a smartphone, reflecting the fact that nearly half of all visits to council websites are now made from mobile devices.
The report looks at what people can do on the site, whether that’s finding out your bin collection day, getting a blue badge, or reporting a problem.
Cllr Rosemarie Harris, the portfolio holder for Customer Services said “We are really encouraged that the huge effort that has been put in to improve our website, its content and the way it displays on smartphones has paid off.”
Powys County Council’s website was among 138 councils out of 416 who received a three-star rating, with only 44 achieving the highest four-star rating. You can find out more at betterconnected.socitm.net.
