Private landlords in Montgomeryshire are being reminded that they need to undertake training and obtain a licence by the 23 November 2016 deadline under new housing legislation.
There are now more opportunities to access this training locally as Powys County Council’s Housing team have recently gained accreditation to deliver Rent Smart Wales’ Private Sector Landlord training.
Rent Smart Wales was introduced last year to deliver Part 1 of the Housing (Wales) Act 2014 that requires all Private Sector Landlords and Letting Agents who manage properties to register, and if applicable, undertake training and obtain a licence by November this year.
Training for landlords will take place across the county in July and August from 9 am – 4.30 pm at the following venues:
• Tuesday 9th August – Newtown, The Park Offices
• Wednesday 10th August – Welshpool, Neuadd Maldwyn
• Wednesday 17th August – Newtown, The Park Offices
The course costs £65 and payment must be received to confirm your booking. Payment can be made over the telephone by contacting Powys County Council’s Housing Services on 01597 827464.
