One of several high street banks closed in Montgomeryshire in recent months has been put up for sale.

The former HSBC bank branch in Llanfair Caereinion is being sold along with the HSBC branch in Llanfyllin.

Both properties are being marketed through estate agents and property surveyors Morris, Marshall and Poole.

Both centrally located in respective towns, MMP partner Rob Hudson said they both provided a good opportunity.

“The banks were closed earlier this year and with prime town centre locations they are ideal for someone who might want to use them for commercial use or even residential, subject to planning permission,” he said.

The former bank in Market Square, Llanfair Caereinion includes two self contained apartments in addition to the commercial space. It has a public reception, manager’s office with oak panelled walls, a staff room and kitchen.

One of the apartments in two bedroomed while the other is a single bedroom. Both come with kitchens, bathrooms and living space.

“Both properties provide a wide range of possibilities within the local communities they sit in, particularly due to their prime town centre locations,” added Mr Hudson.

The property at Llanfair Caereinion is on the market for £125,000 while the Llanfyllin one is on the market at £60,000.
