Police station open day next week

Newtown Police Station is to host an open day next week, providing an opportunity for the public to see the work officers undertake in the town.

The free day will include demonstrations by the force's helicopter support unit, crime scene investigators, the dog section, armed response unit, roads policing, crime prevention and partner organisations who work with the police.

The event will take place on Thursday, 2 June at the police station in Park Lane between 11am and 4pm.

"It'll be fun, informative and interactive. We're looking forward to seeing people of all ages coming to see and understand the work we do here," said a police spokesperson.
