New Dealer Principal at Greenhous

The Ford franchises in Welshpol and Newtown, which were acquired by Greenhous last year, have a new Dealer Principal.

Tony Mellish is very experienced in the automotive arena having spent an earlier career path as a transport recruitment manager before spending six years working as a commercial sales executive for another Ford dealer.  He developed his expertise working with the fleet market.

Tony is a family man, living in Lawley, Telford with his wife and young son and daughter.  He was educated at the Blessed Robert Johnson School and spent his early working life at Maxell in Telford as a senior stock controller.

He says of his new role: ”These are exciting times for Greenhous Ford in Mid-Wales. We have the substantial investment in the new Ford Transit Centre which is taking shape alongside the existing car showrooms. Also a new valeting bay has been opened and we have plans to refurbish the existing showrooms, upgrade our parts department and offer a ’fast lane‘ service option to customers.

“We have an excellent team of people working for us at Greenhous Ford in Welshpool and Newtown and our presence will continue to grow. We are an important local hub for Ford car and van sales in the area.  Ford is renowned as one of the largest manufacturers of popular cars and vans in the UK and across the world.”

Tony reflected on the range of vehicles the Ford dealership has available, saying: “Familiar model names such as Fiesta, Focus, Ka, Galaxy and Mondeo have been added to in recent years by the introduction of the B- max, C-max and S-max and the exciting newly launched Edge.

“On the van front the ubiquitous Transit van continues to be a market favourite with a whole host of businesses. There are many grades of Transit to suit the wide range of demands of customers. Panel vans, dropside, tipper are among the many variations.

“One of our most popular vehicles at the moment has to be the Ranger pick-up which is ideal for the rural environment, it is a robust workhorse as well as a comfortable ride and drive.
