Repair Cafe urges people to have items fixed for free

A scheme that brings back to use old and broken items will be focussing on electricals, bicycles, tool sharpening, wood products, toys and general items at its next repair session.

Newtown Repair Cafe aims to ensure items can be re-used or brought back to life rather than thrown away or wasted.

Earlier this month the organisers hosted an event that was overwhelmed with items needing repair, demonstrating the demand for such a service from local residents.

It announced last week that another repair cafe will be held at Glansevern Market Hall on Saturday, 7 March between 10am and 3pm.

A "seed swap" will also be held, in partnership with Cultivate.

"Bring your broken items to us, and we will endeavour to fix them for free," said Chris Powell of Newtown Repair Cafe.
