Find whoever attacked "Aunty Blanche"

22/06/2017 @ 10:01

The family of an 88-year-old woman who is believed to have been brutally attacked in her own home near Dolfor have urged the community to help find her attacker.

The woman, who has not been formally named by police, was found on Monday at her home by a friend and was rushed to hospital where she remains in a stable condition.

But her nephew, Mervyn Lloyd Jones, said his Aunty Blanche, had been brutally attacked and he wanted anyone with "absolutely any piece of information" to contact the police.

"This was a horrible attack and we need to find whoever did this so that it doesn't happen again," said Mervyn.

He said his aunt was the driving force behind him campaigning to save the Brimmon Oak from the Newtown Bypass on his land at Vastre.

He sent MyNewtown photos of his Aunt under the Brimmon Oak recently (Blanche is on the right) and one from when she was a child sitting under the 500-year-old tree.

"We need anyone who might have seen anything on the Upper Dolfor Road on Monday to contact police. They have already asked people with any dash-cam footage from driving on that road to send it to them. There might be something on it that helps the investigation and can identify any suspects," added Mervyn.

Anyone with information can contact police by telephoning 101.
