Free parking starts until Christmas Eve

Free parking starts from today until Christmas Eve at Powys County Council car parks throughout Montgomeryshire, including the Back Lane and Gravel car parks in Newtown.

The county council is providing the free parking to entice shoppers into town centres in the run up to Christmas in an attempt to help boost trade.

The free parking doesn't affect on street parking which is still limited.

And remember, it's Small Business Saturday today, so all the more reason to show your support for our great local retailers and businesses.

Father Christmas will also be in Newtown today and each Saturday until Christmas within the town councl's pop up shop in High Street.
