CAMRA awards publican

A Newtown publican has been rewarded for his 31 years continuous service at The Railway Tavern.

Dave Jones is the longest servicng licensee in the town having been at the pub for 31 years and for having an entry in the Good Beer Guide for 18 years.

The award was presented by CAMRA's Montgomeryshire branch chairman, Ian Austin, to Dave and his wife Eileen.

Membership of CAMRA nationally now stands at over 150,000.

The Montgomeryshire branch will next meet in the Sportsman Newtown on Thursday  14th November at 7.30pm when shortlisting of entry's for the Good Ber Guide 2015 will take place.
