Up for a forage?

24/09/2013 @ 05:21

Ray Mears and Bear Grylls step aside, a local man says he can teach locals everything they need to know about living off the land!

Stephen Pryce-Lea (pictured) is somewhat of an expert when it comes to foraging and he is organising a series of events near Berriew and hosted by the Chapel Crafts Community Organisation.

Foraging for Mushrooms - An introduction to Wild Mushrooms is a two-hour identification and discussion about hunting for edible forest and field mushrooms, followed by an optional two-hourHunting for Mushroom's locally guided walk/tour.

“They will be a lot of fun and hopefully participants will learn a lot,” said Stephen, who is a professional horticulturalist, international Mushroom fanatic and experienced plant expert.

They are open to all ages but children must be accompanied by parents. Strict rules apply and a disclaimer and safety rules must be signed. Own transport is required with warm, waterproof clothes, walking boots and pre-booking (£7 per person) essential.

To book and confirm dates and times, contact Stephen on 01686 640722.
