7Velo supports helmet campaign

The recently launched 7Velo Cycling Club has backed the campaign by Montgomeryshire AM to get young people to wear cycling helmets while out on their bikes.

The campaign was launched last week and included talks at schools throughout the area beofre a roadshow was held in Broad Street, Newtown on Saturday.

Mt George launched the campaign after hearing from one parent whose son was injured when he fell off his bike without wearing a helmet.

Members of the 7Velo cycling club, which encourages people to take up cycling in the Newtown area, joined the campaign to show support. "Helmets are a critical part of the cycling gear, whether heading out for fun, exercise or competitively," said Chris Hill of 7Velo. "We're pleased to be supporting the campaign to raise awarness of the need for cyclists to wear helmets, particualrly young people."
