Halloween date with a ghost

17/10/2012 @ 06:31

The famous country house near Newtown featured on Living TV’s popular ‘Most Haunted’ series is to host a spooky Halloween dinner and ghost hunt on October 31.

A three-course dinner will be followed by a tour of Gregynog Hall looking for its at £45 per person.

Ghost hunters from ‘Most Haunted’ turned the spotlight on Gregynog Hall, former home of famous art collecting sisters Margaret and Gwendoline Davies, back in 2010.

The team was called in after members of Mid Wales Paranormal reported lots of ghostly activity in The University of Wales’ picturesque and historic conference, event and study venue that nestles in glorious parkland at Tregynon, near Newtown.

A number of ghosts are purported to haunt the hall. These include, among others, a black-clad man called William who is followed by an ethereal dog and a female servant who wears a blue staff uniform characteristic of the Davies sisters’ period in the hall (1882-1963). Guests have also given accounts of a crying child who resides in room seven.

To book tickets or for more information about the events contact Gregynog Hall on Tel: 01686 650224 or visit the website at www.gregynog.wales.ac.uk.
