Trefeglwys take panto honours

Trefeglwys YFC has taken the top honours at the Montgomeryshire YFC Panto competition held at Hafren in Newtown and go through to the Wales finales in North Wales next month with Welsh language winners Bro Ddyfi YFC.

Over 500 Members of Montgomeryshire Young Farmers took part in the six day pantomime festival.

"The theatre was packed out nearly every night. The standard of competers was very high, leaving a tough desicson for the judge, Mr Richard Cheshire of Aberywstwyth for the English festival and Mr Alun Elidir for the Welsh festival," said a YFC spokesperson.

"This year also saw the rise in competers for the one plus competioion which was judged by Penri Roberts of Llanidloes."

Members of Trefeglwys Young Farmers Club were the overall winners of the English Festival with their production of “Snatched” written by Roger Hughes. Bro Ddyfi Young Farmers won the Welsh Festival with their production entitled “Y gacen a'r gusan” produced by Tegid Jones, Meinir Lloyd Jones, Aeron Pughe and William Evans.

There were four One Plus entries. Congratulations to Alwyn Morris and Glyn Parry, Dyffryn Tanat YFC for winning the Sarah Jones Perpetual Trophy, for the Best One Plus performance.
