What's your view on leisure services?

01/11/2011 @ 01:08

What do you think about the leisure services at Madlwyn Sport Centre or other Powys County Council operated leisure centres?

A prize of an iPod Touch, bicycle or a year’s gym or swim pass at one of the county council’s leisure centres is on offer to one lucky person who completes a survey on leisure.

The council is currently asking people for their views on sports and leisure centres as it prepares to write its Active and Healthy Lifestyles Strategy.

The survey is available online now at
www.powys.gov.uk/haveyoursay and paper copies of the questionnaire will be in sports and leisure centres, libraries and customer service points.

Stephen Hayes, the council’s Cabinet Member for Learning and Leisure, commented: "A lot of residents use sports and leisure centres to help keep active, with nearly 2 million activity sessions per year, so we would like your views on these facilities. We also want to know about other ways you keep active, and also your views on the types of activity which are most important to you, so we can work out how to provide better opportunities in the future more closely aligned to the changing nature of our lives."

The deadline for completed surveys is midnight on Wednesday, 30 November and a draw will be made shortly afterwards. The lucky winner will then be offered the choice of either the Ipod Touch, a bicycle (up to a value of £160) or a gym or swim pass for a council leisure or sports centre in the county.
