Elf'tastic news... a new festive fun run and walk

A new charity fun run is coming to Newtown in December and discounted tickets are available for the next few days.
The Mid and North Powys Mind group, which has helped 1,126 individuals over the past year with mental health support, is organising the Mental Elf Fun Run / Walk at Dolerw Park in Newtown on 3 December.
The event will be based at Hafan yr Afon in the Back Lane car park, with the run and walk taking place in the park over the bridge.
It will start at 11am, with registration at 9.45am.
"In addition to the festive run, participants can look forward to the enchanting Santa's Grotto and take advantage of the limited-time 'Eager Elf' ticket promotion for extra savings until the end of October," said Mary Griffiths, the Development Manager for MNP Mind
Participants are encouraged to wear fancy dress. There will be trophies for category winners, a medal for every participant, refreshments, prizes and the Santa's Grotto.
"Beyond the holiday festivities, the 'Mental Elf' Christmas Fun Run remains dedicated to raising awareness and funds for mental health initiatives. Proceeds from the event will directly benefit Mid and North Powys Mind, a crucial organization committed to supporting mental health in the community," added Mary.
"With the everyday struggles we see, as an organisation, we wanted to raise awareness of our services in Mid and North Powys and spread some festive fun at the same time' she went onto say 'hopefully raising some much needed funds for the charity in order to continue providing our high demand services."
