Residents cruise down the canal

Residents from Mid Wales Housing Association's sheltered housing schemes in at Bodlondeb in Llanidloes and William Ainge Court in Welshpool have been on a cruise down the Montgomery Canal, thanks to the association.

The Heulwen Trust charity took the residents on a tour of the canal, organised by the housing asscoiation's Supported Housing Co-ordinator, Jean O'Neill.

One resident, Mrs Kay Morgan from Llanidloes, was particualrly pleased as she's been unable to get out much for two years. "It was a wonderful day, passing swans and ducks and seeing the banks of the canal covered in foliage and wild flowers.  I really loved the company of others and this trip has now given me the confidence to book a coach holiday, something I didn’t think I would be able to do before I went on this most enjoyable day trip," she said.
