Enterprise hub to kickstart Wales Tech Week

Newtown Enterprise Hub is preparing for Wales Tech Week from Monday.

The aim of the week from 21 June is to highlight how technology is affecting, enabling, and improving lives across Wales.

Newtown Enterprise Hub is joining four others from throughout Wales hosting virtual events to discuss different topics, with something for everyone on offer.

On 21st June, three of Aberystwyth’s finest app engineers from Starfish Labs Ltd, will join Focus Newtown Enterprise Hub to discuss how apps can benefit businesses.

On 22nd June, Roundsqaure Studios will be joining Wrexham Hub to go through the power of game loops. Following this, on the Wednesday, the Enterprise Hub at M-Sparc have teamed up with ‘The Year of SMART Towns’ to show attendees how to generate and use data to make informed decisions.

Towards the end of the week on 24th June, Dr Anita Shaw will join ICE Campus to delve into the damaging stereotypes and societal inequalities that are limiting the opportunities in STEM for girls and women.

Finally, to round off the week, Focus Carmarthen Enterprise Hub will welcome Peter Williams, Technical Relationships Manager (Digital Infrastructure) for the Welsh Government, to discuss the developments of Internet of Things and LoRaWAN Technology. Gary Howell, founder of Pembrokeshire’s tech consultancy, Morgan Walsh, will also show attendees the benefits of SMART Technology for business solutions.

“Whether you’re working in or developing new technology, interested in how technology can transform your business or just ‘tech curious’, this week has something for everyone through a diverse range of subjects,” added Holly Jones, Hub Manager, Focus Newtown Enterprise Hub.
