Guinness memorabilia at auction

A unique collection of Guinness memorabilia is going under the auctioneer’s hammer this month.

This month's McCartneys Portcullis auction at Ludlow includes the late Geoff Williams collection of Guinness memorabilia from his museum at Tregynon, near Newtown.

Former bus driver Geoff started his extensive collection with a Guinness ashtray from his years working at a local brewery.

Forty years later, having travelled across the UK attending antique fairs, car boot sales and auctions, his home became a shrine and museum to his favourite drink.

Geoff even offered visitors a drink from the Guinness pub that he created at the museum.

It may have bene hidden away in the Welsh countryside but you wouldn’t be blamed for thinking you were in the heart of Ireland in the unofficial Guinness museum that could put collectors across the world to shame.
