Councillor praises town's response to parking moves

A Newtown councillor has praised the people of the town as temporary parking measures went into place this morning.

County Councillor Joy Jones said she was proud of the people of Newtown.

The temporary parking measure have been put in place in Newtown to help keep people safe with social distancing and to help businesses with queues outside their premises.

“This system will be reviewed and tweaked as needed,” said Councillor Jones.

“The officers involved with putting the cones in place would like to thank the businesses and public who were all very understanding and helpful.

“I am very proud of our town trying to work hard to make Newtown a safe and friendly place to shop and as we see more business open I hope we can all support our local businesses in town or on our estates.”
