VE Day is this Friday, a Bank Holiday, and while Newtown won't be able to celebrate the occasion as we would hope, let's try and do something safe in our own homes or on social media to mark the occasion.
We know Newtown residents will want to mark the 75th anniversary of VE Day and we’re encouraging you to get your thinking caps on, identifying unique ways to celebrate.
It’s a special day for grown-ups and children to remember those who lost their lives in the Second World War and pay tribute to the sacrifices made – but Covid-19 restrictions mean we can’t take to the streets to mark the occasion. So let’s come up some innovative ideas to celebrate at home.
It might be a mini garden party, afternoon tea, flag displays, family dinners or even decorating your own homes.
Whatever you decide to do we want to know at MyNewtown and we'll share your celebrations through our social media channels.
Email editor@mynewtown.co.uk or message on Facebook athttps://www.facebook.com/mynewtown and send us your ideas this week and photos on the day.
