Festive concert at Gregynog Hall

This year’s Gregynog Young Musician of the Year will headline a festive concert at the famous hall next month.
 
Ellis Thomas will headline the Gregynog Young Musician Christmas Concert at Gregynog Hall, Tregynon, near Newtown, Powys, on Sunday, 8 December.
 
He will be joined by Penybont Male Voice Choir, one of Montgomeryshire’s leading choral ensembles, who will fill the famous Music Room with their distinctly rich Welsh sound. Ysgol Pontrobert’s brass group will also perform, rounding off a concert of virtuoso skill from young people at the start of their musical journeys.
 
Ellis won the Gregynog Young Musician earlier this year. He has since gone on to win the Blue Riband Memorial Trophy for the U-19 Instrumental Solo at the Llanrwst National Eisteddfod and has gone to Downing College, Cambridge University to continue his studies.
 
The Christmas concert will begin at 3pm, although guests can extend their visit by enjoying a festive lunch in the Gregynog dining room from 1pm.
