Staff get knitting for local community

Following on from the success of the MidWales Housing Group’s Community Project Day held last year, employees of the association, Care & Repair in Powys and Montgomeryshire Family Crisis Centre picked up their knitting needles once again to produce small blankets for the benefit of the local community.

Representatives from Mid Wales Housing and Montgomeryshire Family Crisis Centre were delighted to present their hand made individually crafted lap blankets to some of the residents of Plas Cae Crwn residential care home just before Christmas.

Juliet Still, Corporate Services Assistant and project lead at Mid-Wales Housing said: "The idea was first suggested by employees as part of the group community project day.   The day inspired us to carry on knitting squares in our own time which could then be sewn up into useful sized small lap blankets.

"This project turned into a great team effort from all us, learning new skills and enjoying a sense of achievement.   We are really pleased that these blankets have found such a good home”.

The knitting challenge does not end here as employees continue to knit ready for the spring season.
