Police are urging anyone who has had a bicycle for Christmas or has not had their existing one security marked to attend a free event in Newtown.
Dyfed Powys Police will be hosting free security marking at Newtown's Tesco car park between 1.30pm and 3.30pm on Saturday.
"Dyfed Powys Police are carrying out bike marking events in both Welshpool and Newtown on Saturday, 19 January 2019 in conjunction with Go Safe and Bike Register," said PC Diane Downward of Newtown Police.
"Come along to Tesco’s car park at Welshpool between 10am and 12 noon and Tesco’s car park at Newtown between 1.30pm and 3.30pm to get your bike marked and registered free.
"Bike Register deters cycle thieves and reunites stolen bikes with their owners. Go Safe will be promoting their campaign “Close Pass” for cyclists."
