Entries open for gruelling Across Wales Walk

One of the area's famous charity events is to open its online entries this weekend.

The Rotary Across Wales Walk, a 42-mile walk from the coast to the Shropshire border near The Anchor, takes place on 22 June.

It is expected to attract hundreds of walkers yet again, many raising money for individual charities.

On Saturday organisers will open online entries for those wanting to walk all of it or part of it.

In addition to the full walk, there are sections of 26, 16 or six miles that start at Staylittle, Llandinam or the Devil's Elbow.

The event is organised by the Rotary Clubs of Llanidloes, Newtown and Machynlleth, with money raised going to charity.

Organisers have said the 2019 event will be single-use plastic-free for the first time.

Entries and details can be found at www.rotaryacrosswaleswalk.org.
