Grants totalling nearly £8,000 have been handed out to local Newtown clubs and groups as part of the Newtown Community Fund.

The fund is run by Newtown Town Council with granst going to local clubs and groups that make a difference to the people and community of the town.
The mayor, Cllr Sue Newham, said: "Every community grant awards evening makes me realise how many groups and individuals volunteer in Newtown to make other people's lives safer, more fulfilling and more enjoyable. Well done to all the groups on their fantastic work."
