Princesses to join festive celebrations

Visitors to Newtown’s official Christmas lights switch on later this month are being challenged to have their photos taken with princesses in the town as part of the celebrations.

Olaf and the princesses will be visiting shops throughout the town on Friday, 24 November between 5pm and 6pm as part of the evening’s festive entertainment.

They will all be ready to meet and greet parents and children and have photos taken with them.

“The challenge is to get photos with four out of five of the princesses and Olaf, then take them to a very special stand outside Parkers, in Newtown, to receive their small sweety bag.

“The evening will be very exciting for all with choirs, bands, craft stalls and shops opening until late. With Olaf and the princesses, plus Santa turning on the Christmas lights, it should be an amazing night for the whole family,” said Hannah Lovatt from Parkers.

A raffle is also taking place, allowing people to win some Christmas gifts.

Hannah added: “Many of the traders have joined together to make something different happen this year in Newtown during the Christmas Lights switch on.

“I have been working closely with Cheryl Griffiths from Rush Fancy Dress shop and we would like to encourage the whole family to come down and have photos with Olaf and Princesses at no charge and receive a small sweety bag as a reward. It should be something very special for all the children attending the evening."
