Staff at a firm of estate agents are holding an auction evening in a bid to raise £8,000 in memory of Montgomery young farmer James Corfield.

Staff at Norman Lloyd estate agents are organising the auction and entertainment evening at Welshpool Livestock Market on Friday, October 27 to raise cash for the Brecon Mountain Rescue Service.

The rescue team was heavily involved in the search for James, whose body was discovered in the River Wye at Builth Wells during the Royal Welsh Show back in July.

A spokesperson at Norman Lloyd Estate Agents, said: “We are raising some much needed funds for Brecon Mountain Rescue Service who played such a vital part in the search for James.

A Facebook event page has been established and the organisers are looking for 25 high quality lots for the auction.

Entry to the event will be free with live music from Frozen Cabin, a bar and hog roast.
